Studying with Mr. Shihor wasn’t just an ordinary career development process, it was an unforgettable life-changing journey.

Words could never explain how thankful and grateful I am to have met such an amazing teacher and mentor, who helped me realize that in order to grow, I have to let go of self-limiting beliefs, and let my mind and aspirations rise to greater heights.

Throughout the past three years, Mr. Shihor has never failed to bring out the best in me. He often understood me better than I did myself.

His unconditional belief and optimism toward my abilities encouraged me to see beyond the impossible, and his endless support and tremendous details to music helped me understand, feel, and hear music in a whole other level.

Mr. Shihor’s dedication on making my dreams possible pushed me to work harder, give out everything I have, and become the best version of myself.

I’m really grateful to have him help me get accepted into multiple top music conservatories including NEC and Peabody where I was offered almost a full scholarship. I wouldn’t be able to go this far without Mr. Shihor.

Ory Shihor

ORY SHIHOR (sh-EE-or) is an internationally acclaimed, award-winning pianist and renowned pedagogue. Born in Tel Aviv, Israel, he came to the U.S. at age 15 to study at the Curtis Institute of Music and later graduated from the Juilliard School. Mr. Shihor was the winner of the Young Concert Artists, the Gina Bachauer Juilliard Prize, first prize winner of the Washington International Piano Competition and prize winner at the Arthur Rubinstein International Piano Master Competition.

Mr. Shihor's teaching philosophy has transformed the playing of thousands of students over the course of his 25-year teaching career, making him one of the most sought-after and well-respected piano teachers in the world.

Ory Shihor is a Bösendorfer and Yamaha artist.
